The first step is to determine a niche. For beginners this may be a bit difficult so I will try to explain these subjects in more detail in future articles.
After you create your blog, go ahead and write an introductory article of at least 400 words in length. The reason you want to publish long articles on your blog is because Google will rank your site with higher merit if they identify your website provides quality unique content of a decent length. Make sure to include words in your articles that you would like to be found with i.e. keywords that people search for in Google.
Make sure to post articles regularly on your site to keep the search engines constantly coming back to update their indexes, this will also improve your search rankings as Google tends to favor websites with fresh and frequently updated content.
